Gemma joined Constable VAT Consultancy in 2021 after 17 years working within HMRC as a VAT Assurance Officer. During her time at HMRC Gemma completed her VAT Foundation training and then went on to gain her VAT Legal & Technical qualification in 2008.

Gemma spent most of her career at HMRC as a VAT Officer, which included visiting a wide range of businesses in the small & medium enterprises sector. This gave Gemma valuable understanding of HMRC’s systems and approach.

Gemma also trained as, and spent 18 months working as, an Alternative Dispute Resolution Facilitator helping resolve disputes between HMRC decision makers and their customers, gaining useful insight into HMRC’s dispute resolution process.

In her spare time Gemma enjoys spending time with her family & pets, and doing exercise including boot camp & muddy obstacle course racing.
